I had the greatest time with these kids! We drove up to the path leading to the field and I asked them if they'd ever heard of the song, 'Going on a Lion Hunt'. They each nodded exuberantly. "Well," I said, "this is a little different, because if you see a lion, I want you to run back to the car screaming like crazy!" What a way to break the ice :) and it worked very well. Although the youngest was still bound and determined by the end of the shoot that he was still going to see a lion, bummer, lol
Great lighting, great scenery, great kids, great time! Thanks Jodi!

Too Cute!
Just finished the editing on this set! I love the feeling of accomplishment, 30 photos done. This was a session I did for my friend, Kim. She has adorable kids that are a bit shy, which is just too cute! It was difficult to get smiles, even I smile when offered chocolate, lol. Anyway, it is so rewarding to have been able to capture the few split seconds where Abby smiled! Too cute! Here are my favorites from Kim's session:

The Last 14 Days!

We traveled across the country and back again, from Winnipeg Manitoba, to Quebec City / Montreal, to New York New York / Long Island, then through Banff to Vancouver and Washington, a stop in Calgary, detour to Lethbridge, and back home... FINALLY! 11,000km in two weeks... boy oh boy! Definitely glad to be home for a while and work on all these pictures!! ;) ;)

Miss New Caledonia
This was the first shoot I did in my new studio for my gorgeous sister-in-law, or should I say she did for me LOL! I wanted to practice some high key shots, but I really love all of these! We had a super fun time and took so many amazing pictures! I had more than I could edit at the time. So here are some previews of my favorites from this collection that I'm just popping out now :)

Firework Mania!
Happy Canada Day to you too! Decided to get out of the routine of spending July 1st in Steinbach and drove down to Vita, Manitoba with my Dad. We heard there was suppose to be an excellent firework show there this year.
We parked a ways away as with any party-ish event. We loaded up our gear and began scouting for a good location to shoot from. We found a spot on the edge of the field, but were soon chased away by the mozzies, who didn't care one snit we had deep woods on. Plus, we calculated that we may be under the fall out according to the direction of the wind anyway. So we packed back up, and moved to the pavement where we met some friends. They had some citronella candles burning so we decided to join them. All this took about an hour until the show started.
The fireworks began and there were cheers from all around. Oooo's and Awww's abundant. It was a great show and I was glad to try my hand at collecting some good firework shots. I took about 100 photos and these were my favorites.
Driving out to Vita was definitely worth the trip!
