Here is such a fun family! Smiles and giggles everywhere! Plus, I now know what they want for Christmas after sitting on the fluffy cushion for their individual portraits ;)

Smiles Everywhere! :)
So some of you may be wondering why I have been 'hiding' for the last little while. Part of it is the move closer to Winnipeg, but it's also that I'm on a secret assignment, which I've finally completed. It took many evenings of late night work and I'm so proud of it! Cannot post specifics though so message me if you want the scoop ;)
In the meantime, here are some photographs I took of a family recently that I really enjoyed. The hardest part was getting them to stop smiling for the one serious shot, jk! Take a peek!

School Portraits
Today, I did some school portraits for a family. It was my first time doing school pictures and I was very happy with how it went. The session was about 30 minutes total for 3 kids. A quick five clicks of each child and out pop some gorgeous photos. Take a look!
Need some school portraits done? Kids grow up so fast; it's highly recommended by most pro's to get individual photos of your child at least twice a year! When was your last session?

Glamour Session
I did a glamour session the other day with Ida, a very talented young model. We had a pleasant time in the park with beautiful colours and sunshine. Shortly after returning to the studio though, my flash stand knocked over and we had to wrap things up quickly but over all it was a great shoot! Thanks Ida!!

Going on a Lion Hunt
I had the greatest time with these kids! We drove up to the path leading to the field and I asked them if they'd ever heard of the song, 'Going on a Lion Hunt'. They each nodded exuberantly. "Well," I said, "this is a little different, because if you see a lion, I want you to run back to the car screaming like crazy!" What a way to break the ice :) and it worked very well. Although the youngest was still bound and determined by the end of the shoot that he was still going to see a lion, bummer, lol
Great lighting, great scenery, great kids, great time! Thanks Jodi!

Too Cute!
Just finished the editing on this set! I love the feeling of accomplishment, 30 photos done. This was a session I did for my friend, Kim. She has adorable kids that are a bit shy, which is just too cute! It was difficult to get smiles, even I smile when offered chocolate, lol. Anyway, it is so rewarding to have been able to capture the few split seconds where Abby smiled! Too cute! Here are my favorites from Kim's session:

The Last 14 Days!
Phew! So glad to be home! Just came back from a trip with my hubby. We traveled across the country and back again, from Winnipeg Manitoba, to Quebec City / Montreal, to New York New York / Long Island, then through Banff to Vancouver and Washington, a stop in Calgary, detour to Lethbridge, and back home... FINALLY! 11,000km in two weeks... boy oh boy! Definitely glad to be home for a while and work on all these pictures!! ;) ;)

Miss New Caledonia
This was the first shoot I did in my new studio for my gorgeous sister-in-law, or should I say she did for me LOL! I wanted to practice some high key shots, but I really love all of these! We had a super fun time and took so many amazing pictures! I had more than I could edit at the time. So here are some previews of my favorites from this collection that I'm just popping out now :)

Firework Mania!
Happy Canada Day to you too! Decided to get out of the routine of spending July 1st in Steinbach and drove down to Vita, Manitoba with my Dad. We heard there was suppose to be an excellent firework show there this year.
We parked a ways away as with any party-ish event. We loaded up our gear and began scouting for a good location to shoot from. We found a spot on the edge of the field, but were soon chased away by the mozzies, who didn't care one snit we had deep woods on. Plus, we calculated that we may be under the fall out according to the direction of the wind anyway. So we packed back up, and moved to the pavement where we met some friends. They had some citronella candles burning so we decided to join them. All this took about an hour until the show started.
The fireworks began and there were cheers from all around. Oooo's and Awww's abundant. It was a great show and I was glad to try my hand at collecting some good firework shots. I took about 100 photos and these were my favorites.
Driving out to Vita was definitely worth the trip!

Gettin' Down
Delivered my first set of child portrait shots and what an adventure! Dumb summer construction! I had to walk 3 blocks in high heels to get to their house; that'll teach me, next time I'll suit up with some Sketchers for my deliveries!
It was an awesome fun shoot! The one year old was a bit shy but had big gorgeous blue eyes! The two girls were totally into it and loved creating their own poses for shots. Caught a few nice candid ones too during the mischief. They loved being in front of the camera and I loved taking the shots.
In fact, Jenny told me they were asking to come over again the very next day. I love my job! Here are a few of my favorites!
